Accrual Accounting Rules operate to recognize certain revenues or expenses when they occur, regardless of when payment is made. Revenues or expenses are booked to an account known as an accounts receivable/account payable account under the current liabilities/current assess of the company until they are paid at a later point in time. Example: You might have opted for payment at end of run time in the Media Campaign, therefore the actual revenue needs to be assigned to the period when the transaction itself actually took place. Since Accrual Rules apply for items which have not yet been paid/invoiced, the matching/mapping is based on the Campaign Item.

Info

One campaign item record will be reflected in one accounting record including all its information on debtor and payment terms, etc.

For accounting records type 'revenue' amount equals N2, whereas the accounting records type 'cost' amount equals TpcAmount.

There are two different types of Accrual Rules

  • Accrual - Cost - this is used to define the rules for accrual creation related to costs

  • Accrual - Revenue - this is used to define the rules for accrual creation related to revenue

Set up your Accrual Rules

In order to create a rule, you need only to give your rule a name. To ensure the rule creates the correct Accounting Record, and it is matched to the correct Campaign Item, you can optionally enter the following:

  • Account Number, Cost Center, Internal Order, etc

  • A validity period

  • If this is a Third Party Rule, please enter a TPC Account

  • The applicable Publisher Payout Condition

  • Dunning Block - check this checkbox if you like to block dunning for a rule. This field gets also copied into your Accounting Record

  • Optionally, you can also add a description
