4.2.6.2 Amount Calculation and Discounts

Challenge

Have you ever wondered how the Net and Gross values in ADvendio are calculated?

Solution

Understanding the different amount fields in your Media Campaign (MC) and Campaign Items (CIs) is key. Here's a brief overview of how they work together:

1. Budget Types

There are six types of budgets available: B1, B2, B3, N1, N2, and N3.

1.1. Gross amounts B1, B2, and B3

  • Gross amount or total amounts, refer to the quantity before taxes, deductions, or costs.

  • B1, B2, and B3 are different types of gross amounts in ADvendio.

  • Surcharges and discounts can affect the gross amounts of B3, B2, and B1.

1.1.1. Gross Amounts Examples

  • Gross Amount (B3): Quantity x Price x Frequency +/- Surcharge B3 (% or Abs.)

  • Gross Amount (B2): Gross amounts affected by specific surcharges +/- Surcharge B2 (% or Abs.)

  • Gross Amount (B1): Gross amounts affected by special discounts (e.g., Customer Discounts, Agency Discounts, Quantity Discounts)

1.2. Net Amounts N1, N2, and N3

Net amounts, represented by N1, N2, and N3 in ADvendio, refer to the final amount after deducting taxes, deductions, or costs from the gross amount.

1.2.1. Net Amounts Examples

  • Customer Net (N1) - Agency earning or Agency Commission (AC)

  • Agency Net (N2) - Third-Party Commission

  • Agency Net (N3) (+ ProductCosts - not yet implemented )

1.3. Abbreviations Explained

  • Abs: Absolute Amount - Represents the specific value without considering any percentage or relative changes

  • AE: Agency Earnings - Refers to the earnings or commission received by the agency involved in the campaign

  • AC: Agency Commission - Represents the commission amount paid to the agency for their services

  • TPC: Third Party Commission - Indicates the commission amount paid to a third-party entity involved in the campaign

  • PCT: Percentage - Represents a value expressed as a proportion of the whole, often shown as a percentage

To summarize:

  • B1, B2, and B3 represent gross amounts.

  • N1, N2, and N3 represent net amounts.

  • The different fields and calculations ensure accurate tracking and calculation of gross and net values in ADvendio:
