4.19.3 How to get information about Buying Item performance and cost into ADvendio?

Challenge:

The Buying Items are up and running. Now, there are multiple things which are interesting to be followed:

  • Are items and orders meeting their goals? Or is an optimization to the targeting or bidding strategy needed?

  • Use how many Impressions were bought for how much money by an item to invoice the total media cost, or watch reselling activities towards advertisers.

How can this information be brought into ADvendio, and where is it stored?

Solution:

Where are the data stored and which performance information is transferred?

To view how Buying Items are currently performing, there are two places where the data is stored.

One, there is a section on the Buying Item which stores the overall performance and cost of that item:

To get more detailed insights, go to the related list tab of the Buying Item. There is a list of Buy Data:

The Buy Data contains more detailed information, for example a breakdown on a monthly or daily base.

The field Type shows, if this is a monthly or daily aggregation of data. The date field shows for which day, in case of monthly data, it always shows the first day of the relevant month.

At the moment, ADvendio imports the following data (2.144.1 and up):

  • the number of bought impressions

  • clicks

  • viewed impressions

  • the total media cost (containing all fees from the platform)

  • the average CPM

  • total conversions

  • completed views

  • completed listens

  • video Views

How can the data be updated into ADvendio?

  • Press Plan Delivery report and in the Report Type drop-down menu

  • Select Lifetime Buying Report, press Next

  • Choose the desired schedule by Select Starting Time

  • Type the email of the Recipient to schedule delivery data for your Buying Order

  • Save your schedule.

Click plan delivery report and select either the lifetime, monthly or daily report to plan the import of your buying data.

For more information on how the import planning works in general, please see also the following page: 5.3.2 How to schedule and manage Delivery Reports / Programmatic Data Imports from AdServers, SSPs, DSPs (New interface)

What happens once the delivery and performance data is imported?

After the report is scheduled and finished, the configured recipients will receive an email with more details about the results. It contains general information about the org and involved user, as well as how many ADvendio records were updated.

Please make sure that the user planning the Buy Data imports has permissions to view and edit the following objects:

  • Buying Orders

  • Buying Items

  • Buy Data

  • Delivery Report Settings

Also, please make sure the tab for the Delivery Report Center is visible and accessible. We generally recommend that a user with System Administrator permissions plans and manages the delivery imports to ensure there are no problems with missing access rights.

Error Handling

Each error message is explicitly associated with the specific ad server connection that generated it. This means you can quickly identify whether an error originated from your DV360 connection, your Xandr connection, or any other integrated platform. This clear association allows for more efficient troubleshooting.
