Version

1.0

Challenge:

While selling reach extension packages for a fixed price already cover a lot of cases, it is limited as in you are not able to invoice your advertisers on an actual media spend. Which solutions does the media buying pilot offer so that you can also invoice advertisers on a more granular level and on what is the actual media spend on the different buying platforms?

Solution:

In order to invoice on actuals, we need a Media Campaign with Buying Campaign Items, similar to how they have been prepared for reach extension packages or with a more flexible media plan.

Once such a campaign is ongoing or even finished, the ADvendio Media Buying Pilot offers a flow to sync the total media spend of your individual Buying Items to your Campaign Item.

You can start this sync at any time, by pressing the button ‘Sync Media Spend’

The automatic process starts and prompts you a result screen, once everything is done.

You can see, the Campaign Item Amount is currently equal to the total media spend. There is also a note summarizing the number of purchased Impressions and the average CPM.

This is how the information can display on Proposal and Invoice documents of ADvendio:

The button helps you to test the flow and results. Once the basic set up is done, you can schedule this process to run automatically via Lightning Flows, so that your Campaign Items will always be updated with the latest Media Spend.

Limitations:

The current solution in the Media Buying Pilot always aggregates spend data for the whole runtime of a Campaign Item. If you want to invoice this in multiple intervals (e.g. 3 months of total budget planned and you want to invoice the monthly media spend inidividually) you will need to split it into three individual Campaign Items for each month!

Setup:

In order to see the button on your Campaign Item, you will need to add it to your Page Layout or your Lightning Pages:

In order to schedule the process to run automatically, you will need to go to the Lightning Flows.

There is a flow called ‘Sync Buying Actuals Schedulable’ If you click on the name you can open an edit window.

In the flow edit screen you can define the schedule on which the process should run (e.g. once a day)

And you can also add custom conditions on which Campaign Items to consider.

Once everything is done, you will need to save as a new flow version, give it a custom name and activate the flow. Now it will run automatically depending on your configuration.
