Challenge

 

To streamline sales processes and allow Sales Reps and Order Managers to easily choose products for their Campaign Items. Certain pre-configurations need to be done to contain the right settings to send over to an external system like an AdServer.

Usually, those products are Ad Specs, it consists of the medium/site where an ad is running and the specific format (ad type).

The Ad Type will contain numerous technical and format settings, which will be sent automatically to an external system together with the Campaign Item in AdButler.

How can these Ad Types be created? And which settings for AdButler need to be done on Ad Type to make it work?

Solution

 

When creating Ad Types for AdButler make sure to fill in the information below, explaining which fields equal which settings in the AdServer.

To create a new AdButler Ad you go to the main menu, access “Ad Types” in Advendio, select “New”, and under “New Ad Type “ select “ADBUTLER” option and press “Next”. You will see fields below to be filled:

When creating Ad Types for AdButler make sure to use the following fields mentioned in the table below. See which fields equal which settings in the AdServer.

Delivery Type

  • Auction

  • Auction - Ad is served based on the highest price. When decision engine have considered quotas, scedule, targets and rules.

or

  • FixedDelivery - Ad is served based on weight, quotas, schedule, targets and other rules without considering price.

Delivery Rate Type*

  • None

  • Evenly

  • As fast as possible

  • Evenly - smooth impressions deivery over the time period

or

  • As fast as possible - deliver impressions as quickly as possible

*QUOTA option in Adbutler
In the AdButler UI we have a Quota option that behaves depending on the Delivery Rate Type selected.

  • With Evenly and None → Quota is going to be selected

  • With As Fast as possible → Quota is NOT going to be selected

Quota aplies to both “standard” and “ VAST” Ad Types
