3.12 How to block inventory on certain days (Event Planning/Event Dates)?

Challenge

Blocking inventory on certain days due to events or due to maintenance reasons.

Solution

The above described challenge can be covered by the creation of so called Event Planning records.

You can create them via App Launcher > Event Plannings.

After hitting the “New“ button you can enter the relevant data:

  • Date (required): The date on which the event or maintenance will happen

  • Description (optional): A description of the Event/Maintenance reason

  • Ad Spec (optional): The inventory which should be blocked on the defined date.

  • Content (optional): The Content record which should be blocked on the defined date.

Please note that either an Ad Spec or a Content have to be defined on the Event Planning record. Both can also be set together. If none is set the Event Planning will not apply.

Once the record was saved you will be able to see the blocked dates in our Booking Calendar Lightning feature as well as in the Publication Date selection of the Campaign Builder.

The Booking Calendar will show the dates as not available with a note of what the Event is about. The cell won’t be selectable with the Admin Settings set to “disable the selection of fully booked cells”.

The Publication Date selection will simply not show it in the Campaign Builder.
