Challenge

Suppose you plan to use the ADvendio platform features to buy media via TikTok using ADvendio. In that case, this article will guide you through the necessary fields and configurations to set up your Buying Order and Buying Items with TikTok Integration.


Solution

Before accessing all required Picklist options, certain configurations must be set up in Salesforce. To do this, follow these steps:

Certain configurations must be set up in Salesforce to enable access to all required Picklist options for future setups:

  1. Access Setup

  2. Navigate to Object Manager

  3. In the search box find "Buying Order."

  4. Click on "Buying Order" to proceed.

  5. Proceed to the "Record Type" section and choose "TikTok."

  6. If the following fields have not been created yet, set them up with the specified values and Save the following:

    • TikTok Order Goal should include:

      • Post Engagement

      • Web Conversions

         


1. Buying Configuration

To begin the buying configuration process for successfully pushing Buying Orders/Items to TikTok, follow these steps:

  1. Access the App Launcher and search for "Buying Configurations."

  2. Once in the "Buying Configuration" section, click on "New" to start

  • General Information

    • Select “TikTok” connection and select the “Active” checkbox

  • Buying Order Fields, select the following:

    • Insertion Order ID

    • Order Goal (Required)

    • Start Date (Required)

    • End Date (Required)

    • Budget Amount (Required)

    • Budget Amount Daily

 

  • Buying Items Fields, select the following:

    • Line Item ID (Required)

    • Order ID (Required)

    • Status

    • Start Date (Required)

    • Start Time

    • End Date (Required)

    • End Time

    • Optimization Strategy (Required)

    • Budget Amount (Required)

    • Budget Amount Daily (Required)

    • Billing Event (Required)


2. Buying Order

To initiate buying media through TikTok, you need to define Media Campaign with Buying Campaign Items using the ADvendio Buying Order system.

Follow these steps:

  1. Access the App Launcher and search for "Media Campaigns" and select “New”.

  2. Assign an Advertiser to the Account Field and Save.

  3. Click on Media Search to find your previously configured Buying Ad Spec and Start with the Buying Campaign Item configuration in Campaign Builder.

  4. Open the Media Campaign related list and navigate to the "Buying Orders" section, click on "Add Buying Order" to begin

  5. Choose the appropriate Source

    1. Select the Record Type as "TikTok"

    2. Choose the previously created Connection

    3. Click on "Save”.

  6. Add a name for the Buying Order.

  7. Complete all the required fields to determine your TikTok Campaign objective.

When creating a new Buying Order, ensure the presence of the following fields:

3. Buying Item

After creating a Buying Order, you can set up individual Buying Items, which correspond to TikTok AdGroups. These Buying Items enable you to manage your programmatic media spending by configuring details such as bidding strategy, goals, and automatic optimizations.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open the previously created Buying Campaign Item and navigate to the Related List:

  2. Select “Add New Buying Item”.

  3. When prompted, select the previously created Buying Order and Save to begin

  4. Complete all the required fields to determine your TikTok Ad Groups objectives.

You have the flexibility to create as many Buying Items as needed for your Buying Order.

  • Disable bid control, spending your budget fully and getting the maximum possible results. This bidding strategy is called "Lowest Cost" in TikTok Ads Manager.

 

IMPORTANT: On Targeting:

  • When the Objective_type is "WEB_CONVERSION", we need to select a PIXEL ID and its Optimization Event Value as a Targeting we obtained from Transfer to ADvendio.

  • Geo Targeting is always required.
