When the external item name doesn’t appear on the generated PDF, several conditions should be checked to identify and resolve the issue.
Key Checks
1. Verify the Ad Spec Settings
Ensure the following:
The External Name field for the ad spec is populated.
The Use External Name on PDF checkbox is set to true.
2. Check for Conflicting Settings
If the external name and "Use External Name on PDF" are correctly configured but the PDF still doesn’t display the external name, another setting might be overriding this behavior:
Locate the Use Item Name on PDF field (ADvendio__UseItemNameOnPdf__c) on the relevant campaign item.
If Use Item Name on PDF is set to true, the system prioritizes displaying the Campaign Item Name (often the ad spec name) instead of the external name on the PDF.
Resolution
To ensure the external name is used on the PDF:
Populate the External Name on the ad spec.
Set Use External Name on PDF to true.
Confirm that Use Item Name on PDF is set to false, allowing the external name to display.
