Deprecation Announcement March 2025 - Unique Key Field in Creative Upload & Ad Material Management

What will be changed?

With this announcement, we would like to inform our customers that starting from ADvendio version 2.175, the field 'Unique Key' will no longer be used in our Creative Upload & Ad Material Management feature. Moving forward, our features will continue to rely on the 'Unique Key (External)' field instead.

This change affects the following Salesforce objects:

  • AdCreativeTemplate

  • AdCreativeTemplateVariable

The 'Unique Key' field will be ignored in all relevant features, and customers should transition to using 'Unique Key (External)' if they have any existing dependencies on the deprecated field.

Why this change is taking place

The removal of the 'Unique Key' field is part of our ongoing efforts to optimize and streamline the Creative Upload & Ad Material Management process. By consolidating unique key handling into the 'Unique Key (External)' field, we aim to:

  • Reduce redundancy within our system.

  • Improve performance and consistency.

  • Prevent potential conflicts caused by duplicate fields.

Since our Third Party Integrations already use the 'Unique Key (External)' field, this change should require minimal adjustments.

When is the deadline for version support?

The 'Unique Key' field will no longer be used from ADvendio version 2.175 onwards. However, we understand that some customers may need additional time to adjust. As part of our long-term deprecation strategy, the Salesforce removal of the field is scheduled for March 2026.

What actions do you need to take?

Most customers will not need to take any action. However, we recommend reviewing your setup to ensure a smooth transition:

  1. Check for any dependencies: If you have custom logic, reports, or workflows that reference the 'Unique Key' field, update them to use 'Unique Key (External)' instead.

  2. Update Page Layouts: Remove the 'Unique Key' field from any page layouts where it is currently displayed.

Important Notes:

  • The 'Unique Key' field will not be removed immediately but will be ignored by all ADvendio features from version 2.175 onward.

  • The final removal from Salesforce is scheduled for March 2026.

  • If you experience any unexpected issues, please contact ADvendio Support for guidance.
