How to Set up Targeting for DV360?
In order to configure targeting for our DV360 Integration, you will need to go through the following steps.
Import Targeting IDs: Most Targetings, that are visible in the ADvendio Targeting UI, will need Connection ID records to be imported, before they can be used. You can do so on the Connection Record, using the ‘Transfer to ADvendio’ button. You can choose to only import Categories & Types that are relevant for your bookings and ignore others.
Import of Floodlight Activities (For Conversion Targeting)
Due to API limitations with Google Display & Video 360, right now you will need to manually provide the Floodlight Group ID, for which you plan to import Floodlight Activities. Failing to provide this in ADvendio will result in empty imports.
Find your Floodlight Group IDs in DV360; You can access them via the Partners or Advertisers Section → Ressources → Floodlight Groups
Copy the ID of your Floodlight Group and paste it into the field Advertiser Group ID of your Connection Record for DV360
Navigate to Connection → Transfer to ADvendio.
Select Category:
Attributionand Type:Floodlight Activity.Imported Floodlights will appear as Connection ID records, related to their parent advertiser.
As of right now, you will need to manually repeat this step and change the advertiser group ID, if you plan to import activities for multiple advertisers
For Frequency Capping, no further set up is needed, you can find the Frequency Capping criteria in the dedicated field: FrequencyCapping and in the Frequency Capping Section of the Targeting UI
Enabling Targeting in Campaign Builder: To also set targeting on Campaign Item level, please follow the sets outlined in: 10.1.9 Automate your Media Buying Trafficking with our new Targeting Split function for Flows
For the Buying Item UI, no further configuration is needed to see the targeting, once the import (step 1) has been successful

Geo Targeting
Postal Codes:
Target specific postal codes. This can be done by entering a comma-separated list of postal codes or by assigning individual postal codes.
Where to Set:
Geo targeting settings can be configured at the Buying Items or the Campaign Builder. You can set Postal Codes via a dedicated Postal Code Targeting Section:
ADvendio supports different ways for Postal Code Targeting. 1. you will need to select the target country and then you can either:
Paste Comma Separated lists of Postal Codes
Select a range, to let ADvendio automatically select all Codes within that range
Manually select Postal Codes via Lookup
For more information see also our Postal Code Targeting in Campaign Builder: 4.20.1.6 Postal Code Targeting in Campaign Builder
Important Notice:
In order fully use Postal Code Targeting, you will need to import a list of Postal Codes from DV360 first. Please use our Transfer to ADvendio feature for this and import:
Countries
Postal Codes
Location Lists:
Target pre-defined lists of location, which you can create directly in DV360 and import to ADvendio. We now support two types of Location Lists:
Regional Location Lists: Targeting based on geographic regions.
Proximity Location Lists: Targeting based on a radius around specific points of interest. By default, the radius for Proximity Location Lists is set to 20km.
Where to Set:
Geo targeting settings can be configured at the Buying Items. Location Lists can be selected within the Geo Targeting section.
Specific Logics:
Proximity Location Lists can not be excluded; Currently ADvendio uses a default radius of 20km, this setting can currently not be modified
Other Geo Criteria
Additionally we support conventional Geo Criteria from Google DV360, which you can select to either include or exclude. The following types are supported:
Country
Region
City

Neighborhood
Canton
Province
Territory
Autonomous Community
Airport
Department
DMA Region
Governorate
Municipality
Prefecture
Union Territory
Tv Region
Device Targeting
Device Category:
Target specific categories of devices. Provided as a fixed set of options for Google DV360
Where to Set:
Device targeting settings can be found within the Targeting section of the Buying Item.
Specific Logics:
If no specific device types are selected, the system will default to targeting all device types
Depending on your Line Item Type, not all options are valid to submit (e.g. Connected Devices are currently only used for Audio Line Items)
Other Device Targeting:
Language targeting will be available with ADvendio Version 2.177
Other supported device targeting includes:
Browser
Language
Where to Set:
Device targeting settings can be found within the Targeting section of the Buying Item or Campaign Builder.

Include: English, German, Spanish possible
Include English & Exclude German invalid

Category & Genre targeting will be available with ADvendio Version 2.177
Allows to select which inventory or suppliers to target at a Buying Item. You can include or exclude your selection. Choose from different Exchanges / Subexchanges to buy from Or from Inventory Deals and Packages to include.
Public Inventory: Target a wide range of ad exchanges and sub-exchanges.
Deals and Packages: Target specific programmatic deals and packages.
Where to Set:
Inventory targeting options are available within the Targeting section of the Buying Item or Campaign Builder.
Specific Logics:
Specific Categories are only valid certain Item Types (such as Display, Audio, Video). If the wrong Category is selected for your Buying Item, an API error is returned. Unfortunately due to current API limitations, we are not able to
Genres are only valid for Video or Audio Item Types and similar restrictions as for Categories apply here too.
Audience Segments
This enhancement aims to enable the "Audience Segments" category within the Targeting section of the DV360 integration. This allows users to leverage previously imported audience data for precise targeting.
You can now access the targeting UI of a DV360 Buying Item and find imported Audience Items under a dedicated dropdown menu called "Audience Segments." You can select the audiences you wish to use as targeting values and combine them using AND/OR logic.
It is possible to:
Create Groups of Audiences which will be combined
Combine multiple Groups with an AND operator
Exclude Audience Items (Note: It is not allowed to mix Included and Excluded Audiences in one group, you can only either include or exclude)
Where to Set:
Audience Segments can be found within the Targeting section of the Buying Item or Campaign Builder.
Brand Safety
Keywords and Frequency Capping will be included in ADvendio Version 2.177
Keywords
In order to set Keywords, you can directly paste in your keyword lists in ADvendio. You will need to paste the lists as line separated keywords.
There are currently two individual fields in our Buying Configuration:
Keywords: Use this for keywords you want to include in targeting
Negative Exact Match Keywords: Use this for keywords you want to exclude
Where to Set:
In order to set keywords, you will need to use two dedicated fields on the Buying Item objects outside of the ADvendio targeting UI.
Postive Exact Match Keywords (API Name: ADvendio__PositiveExactMatch__c)
Negative Exact Match Keywords (API Name: ADvendio__NegativeExactMatch__c)
You can either set these directly in the ADvendio Buying UI or directly fill in a field value via automations such as flows. The expected format is a list of keywords, line separated:
Keyword1
Keyword2
Multi Term Keyword
Keyword3
Specific Logics:
Within DV360 there are certain rules for setting keywords:
Each keyword is limited to a max. of 80 characters
You can use up to 10 words in a single keyword line
Keyword Exclusion Lists
After importing from DV360, you are able to select predefined Keyword Exclusion Lists, as part of the Brand Safety targeting:
Where to Set:
Negative Keyword lists are part of the targeting UI and can
Channels & Collections (App Categories)
You are able to set up specific content exclusions for your brand safety in DV360 including setting from ADvendio:
Channels
Collections (App Categories)
You can either include or exclude the individual criteria.
Where to Set:
Brand Safety targeting options are available within the Targeting section of the Buying Item or Campaign Builder.
Specific Logics:
Channels can be preconfigured on Advertisers in DV360, these settings are fixed and can not be modified. If you select the same channels in your Buying Item targeting, it might be errors are encountered during the Buying Order Submit:
Warning: Service could not created all the Selected Targeting provided. [LineItemId 22434200607 - The following assigned targeting option is already assigned to its specified entity: advertisers/686637/lineItems/22434200607/targetingTypes/TARGETING_TYPE_CHANNEL/assignedTargetingOptions/1976752334.]
Digital Content Labels & Sensitivity Categories - AVAILABLE WITH 2.178
You are able to set up specific exclusions for your brand safety form the DV360 platform brand safety targeting
Content Labels
Sensitivity Categories
You can select the criteria via the tree. The Selected Labels and Categories will be excluded from your DV360 targeting.
Where to Set:
Brand Safety targeting options are available within the Targeting section of the Buying Item or Campaign Builder.
Specific Logics:
Selecting all Content Labels will result in an invalid targeting selection, since all available audiences are excluded. This is currently not validated by ADvendio or the DV360 API
Some Categories (such as LIVE_STREAMING_VIDEO or EMBEDDED_VIDEO are not available for all line item type. Selecting them for example for a Display Item, results in errors during the submit)
Note:
For Content Labels and Categories always works as exclusions: Meaning all the selected in entries in ADvendio will be Excluded from your Item.
E.g. Selecting Content Rating Mature makes sure your Ads will not get displayed with mature content.
Apps & URLs
In addition to predefined Channels or App Categories, ADvendio supports setting up your Buying Item with individual URL lists or App lists to target.
You are able to define a bulk list, which you can then either include or exclude. Please ensure that if you past in a list of values, that the values are line separated, with only 1 ID or URL per line.
Where to Set:
Apps and URLs are being set on Campaign Items and Buying Items, via the Targeting UI, you can find the tab: “URL and Apps”
All URL and App ID targeting is saved in a dedicated field called: AdvancedSettings__c, which is included on Campaign Items and Buying Items
Specific Logics:
App Ids and URLs are expected in a valid format, otherwise they can’t be saved to Buying Items in ADvendio
URLs:
www.example.comwww.news-site.com/articlesubdomain.domain.comApp IDs:
1234(iOS)org.example.app.id(Android)
With ADvendio Version 2.177 it is not yet possible to use URL and App targeting in the Targeting Sets wizard, we are working to enable this functionality in the future.
Frequency Capping
Frequency Capping for DV360 can be set on Buying Orders and Buying item individually.
Where to Set:
Frequency Capping can be found in the targeting section of either Buying Order, Buying Item or Campaign Item. You are also able to directly set the value for the field:
ADvendio__FrequencyCapping__c
by following the expected pattern, e.g.
“1 per 1 day”
Specific Logics:
There is no dedicated validation between Buying Order and Buying Item Frequency Capping, though the Buying Order is limiting for any item frequency capping
Campaign Builder Targeting is currently automatically applied to Buying Item level, when creating the Items via ADvendio UI
Attribution - Floodlight Activities
Floodlight Activities and Attribution Targeting will be included in ADvendio Version 2.177
As part of the Google DV360 Targeting you can directly select Floodlight Activities in our Targeting UI.
Tab 1 – Selected Floodlights:
Shows you the already selected Floodlight Activities; this might be empty upon creating new Buying Items.
Set Post-Click Days (e.g. 14)
Set Post-View Days (e.g. 14)
Delete or update existing selections
Tab 2 – Search Activities:
Browse imported Floodlight Activities
Add them to your configuration
Conversion Percentage:
On top you see a Conversion Percentage, use this to set how much % of Post-View Conversions you’d like to track.
Setting the percentage to 100%, will equal the DV360 Setting to ‘Track all Conversions’
Setting the percentage to 0%, will equal the DV360 Setting to ‘Track only Post-Clicks’
The setting is general and applies to all Floodlight Activities.
Where to Set:
The Floodlight Activities are part of the ADvendio Targeting component. This can be access on Campaign Items in the Campaign Builder or directly in our Buying UI.
The values for Floodlight Activity Targeting are saved into the field
ADvendio__AdvancedSettings__c
DV360 Specific Logic: Partner Level & Inherited Targeting
In the DV360 Platform, there are certain options to set up Targeting on a Partner Level. These targetings will be automatically included in all related Line Items.
The ADvendio Integration adds these targetings automatically to the selected targeting in ADvendio. This is a fixed logic, that can not be changed and inherited targeting criteria can also not be modified in DV360 directly.
