1.1. Overview
You can now use Facebook Custom Audiences directly in ADvendio Buying Orders!
This enhancement enables you to refine your targeting with previously built audience segments, such as customer email lists, website visitors, or app users, without leaving the ADvendio platform.
1.2. What’s New?
You can now:
Import Facebook Custom Audiences into ADvendio using the Transfer to ADvendio tool.
View Custom Audiences under the "Audience Segments" category in the Buying Item’s targeting section.
Select one or more audiences per Buying Item and choose whether to include or exclude them during targeting.
Submit Buying Orders with this targeting directly to the Facebook Ads platform.
1.3. Why This Matters
Custom Audiences allow you to:
Re-engage your existing customers on Facebook.
Target users who have visited your website, used your app, or are part of an uploaded contact list.
Exclude segments to fine-tune your reach, such as users who’ve already converted or unsubscribed.
1.4. Example Use Cases
A retailer can re-target past buyers for seasonal promotions.
A fitness app can exclude current subscribers from a new user campaign.
An event organizer can target recent attendees with early-bird offers.
1.5. How to Use It
1.5.1. Import Custom Audiences
Open an active Facebook connection in ADvendio, or create a new one (click on the nine-dots menu in the top left corner and type “Connections“).
Click on the Transfer to ADvendio button and select Audience Segment → Custom Audiences.
You can schedule the transfer or click on “Run Now” to start it right away.
This will pull a list of Custom Audiences directly from the Facebook platform.
1.5.2. Add Custom Audiences to your Buying Item
Create a new Facebook Buying Item or open an existing one and press the Edit button.
Click on the Targeting tab.
Click on the pencil icon in the targeting section of the Buying Item to open the targeting tree.
Click on the Audience Segments section and expand it to display the component.
Press the “Add Audience Item” button and select an audience from the “Name of Audience Item“ menu to add it to your targeting, and use the menu on the left to select Include or Exclude.
Press the “+ Add Audience Item“ button to add a new audience.
Press “Save and Back“ once you have completed your selection to return to the Buying Item.
1.5.3. Submit as Usual
Once your Buying Item targeting includes the desired Audiences, proceed with your Buying Order submission to Facebook as normal.
Notes & Limitations
The feature is fully supported in ADvendio version 2.176.
Audiences must exist in your Facebook Ad Account and be associated with valid Connection IDs (by importing them with the Transfer to ADvendio feature).
Some audience imports may fail if linked to a user rather than an advertiser; ensure correct permissions have been applied.
When importing Custom Audiences from Liveramp, it will be necessary to perform two steps (in ADvendio) before the import:
Access the Facebook Connection you’re using for the Custom Audiences import and manually create a Connection ID of category Account and type Advertiser that contains the ID of your Liveramp account in the ID field.
Access the ADvendio Account you’re using with your Facebook integration and manually add an External Account Id that contains the Liveramp ID, and it’s linked to the previously created Connection ID.
Audience lists are also displayed in the Campaign Builder for Facebook items, check this article for more information
