Urgent Action Required: Important Salesforce Security Update Affecting Older ADvendio Versions
On August 28, 2025, Salesforce is introducing a new security measure that impacts how users connect to services outside of Salesforce. This change requires an administrator's approval for users to connect apps.
What does this mean for ADvendio customers?
This change may impact customers using ADvendio versions prior to 2.169.
If you're using an older version of ADvendio, a connected app is used to connect to our gateway services for critical functions such as communicating with Ad Servers, sending invoice emails, generating Swiss QR codes, and more. With the upcoming Salesforce security update, this connection may be blocked, causing a disruption to these services.
What do I need to do?
ADvendio Version 2.169 or Newer Our ADvendio Connector app, introduced in version 2.169, follows Salesforce's new guidelines. We don't anticipate any service interruption for customers using this version or newer.
ADvendio Versions Older than 2.169 We highly recommend that you update your ADvendio package to the latest version. This will ensure a smooth transition and prevent any disruption to your services.
Why is this happening?
Salesforce is implementing this change to enhance trust and security across its ecosystem. This new measure gives administrators more control over which apps and services their users can access. Salesforce administrators were notified of this change on August 19, 2025.
