Updated Reporting Slot Feature for Google AdManager (GAM Integration for Delivery Report Features.
Overview
Google Ad Manager (GAM) has deprecated the CREATIVE_SIZE dimension in favor of CREATIVE_SIZE_DELIVERED. This change affects all GAM Delivery Reports in relation to our Reporting Slots feature, which can be used to configure dedicated slot sizes on your Campaign Items, for counting delivery numbers.
For detailed information about reporting slots, see the 3.1.5.2.3 Reporting Slots.
Check out the new simplified Master & Companion reporting, which can help you to further simplify your migration: Master & Companion Reporting for Google Ad Manager (GAM)
What Has Changed?
Dimension Update: API Reports now use the actual delivered creative size (
CREATIVE_SIZE_DELIVERED) instead of the slot size (CREATIVE_SIZE).Audio/Video Format Handling: GAM now summarizes all Audio and Video slot sizes as
Audio OverlayandVideo Overlayinstead of specific dimensions (e.g.,123x456v).Feature Flag: You can enable or disable the new behavior via a feature flag in the Connection (AdServerLogin) object for backward compatibility.
Step-by-Step Migration Guide
1. Add Picklist Values to the Connection Object
To enable the new reporting logic, you must add a new AdServer Feature to your Connection (AdServerLogin) object:
Feature Name: Delivered Size Reports
How to add:
Go to your Salesforce org.
Open the Connection (AdServerLogin) object.
Add the picklist value
Delivered Size Reportsto the AdServer Feature field (specifically for DFP/GAM record types).Save your changes.
Note: This feature flag controls whether the new
CREATIVE_SIZE_DELIVEREDdimension is used. If disabled, the system will continue using the deprecatedCREATIVE_SIZEfor backward compatibility.
If you can’t find the value in the Connection Features field, you might need to manually add this as a new picklist value in the Salesforce Setup of your Connection Object.
Please ensure to use the exact syntax “Delivered Size Reports” and add the picklist value to the Google AdManager Record Type
2. Update AdTypes for Reporting Slots
You must update your AdType and Campaign Item objects to support the new overlay formats. This is required for Video and Audio type items, all Display Campaign Items should not be affected.
Affected Fields:
Ad_Type__c.ReportSlots__cAd_Type__c.ReportSlotsClicks__cAd_Type__c.ReportSlotsViewedAI__cAd_Type__c.Blocker_Slot__cCampaign_Item__c.ReportSlots__cCampaign_Item__c.ReportSlotsClicks__cCampaign_Item__c.ReportSlotsViewedAI__c
How to add:
For each field above, add the following picklist values:
Audio/OverlayVideo/Overlay
Save your changes.
3. Review and Adjust Reporting Slot Logic
Audio and Video formats:
Previously, reporting slots for Audio and Video used specific sizes (e.g.,123x456v). Now, all such slots are summarized asAudio/OverlayandVideo/Overlay.Action Required:
Check your AdTypes and Campaign Items.
Update any slot size references for Audio and Video to use the new overlay values.
This ensures that only impressions from the correct slot are counted in your reports.
4. Test Your Configuration
After making the above changes, test your delivery reports to ensure:
Reports use the correct dimension (
CREATIVE_SIZE_DELIVEREDif the feature is enabled).Audio and Video overlays are reported correctly.
Only impressions from the selected slot sizes are counted.
FAQ
Q: What happens if I don’t update my configuration?
A: Your GAM delivery reports may stop working or provide inaccurate data, especially for Audio and Video formats. Currently there is no fixed deprecation date for the feature change, but we recommend a migration soon or to review Master & Companion Reporting for Google Ad Manager (GAM)
Q: Can I still use the old dimension?
A: Yes, by keeping the feature flag disabled. However, this is not recommended as Google may remove support for the deprecated dimension at any time.
