3.1.5.5.1 Priority / Placement Override Settings (Sponsorship Precedence)

3.1.5.5.1 Priority / Placement Override Settings (Sponsorship Precedence)

Overview

With version 2.102, we enhanced our configuration to submit the Override option with your Freewheel Placements.

The Freewheel options that can be configured are:

  • Above Paying Ads

    • This option will set the Placement to be a higher priority than all paying ads. 11 will be a higher priority than all other paying ads. 12 is a higher priority than 11, etc. 20 is the highest priority ad.

  • Below Paying Ads

    • This option will set the Placement to a priority below all regular CPM ads and ads set with prioritization mode, Amongst Paying Ads or Above Paying Ads. This choice can be set from 1, the highest priority within this group, to 10, the lowest priority ad.

  • The override controls how it behaves in comparison to contending items and which Placement will be displayed first.

Prerequisites

To use this feature, it might be that you have to create the picklist values by yourself. Please check in setup if the following picklist values exist and if they are available for your record types, profiles and permission sets. You can use the following table as reference, which priorities ADvendio supports. Make sure that you use the exact spelling as your picklist values, or else there might be errors. If no value is set we use a default value (Amongst paying Ads / Normal).

Setup

  • To configure this, use the field Priority at the Ad Type or Campaign Item object.

    • Remember that the priority set at the Campaign Item will always override the value from the Ad Type.

  • You can only choose one or the other

Important

  • In order to use this feature, your Network Function SPONSORSHIP_PRECEDENCE needs to be enabled and set to “precedence_level“.

  • The Network Function has to be enabled so that it allows the network to set a precedence on sponsorships to determine which sponsorship will deliver in a conflict. If a budget model of All Impressions Sponsorship or Share Of Voice% (SOV%) has been chosen for a placement in the budget widget, the override widget will display the Precedence Level dropdown.

  • Precedence Level allows you to control how the system deals with this conflict by setting a level of precedence for each sponsorship. When a sponsorship conflict is detected at ad delivery time, Streaming Hub will deliver the placement with the higher precedence level. If there is no placement that has the highest precedence level (i.e., multiple placements are tied for the highest level of precedence), then no ads will be delivered (unless both Sponsor A and Sponsor B exempt All Other Exclusive Placements from any Advertiser in the exemptions section).
