Ad spec recommendations help to promote products with a validity period (e.g. Christmas special) and products that fit good to each other for upselling. The recommendation shows the ad sales manager similar ad specs or current special offers triggered by his selection. The ad spec recommendation is a handy feature to sell your ad inventory more effectively.

Activate Product Recommendations

The feature Product Recommendation needs to be activated from your system administrator, it can be disabled again at any time. With this feature you are able to push promotions and similar ad specs internally to make more of your ad inventory.

  1. Click the tab Administration settings.
  2. Expand the section Administrator Actions and search the checkbox Show Product Recommendations.
  3. Activate the checkbox Show Product Recommendations.
  4. Save your changes.

Setup Ad Spec Recommendations 

To setup ad spec recommendations, you have to define all information regarding the ad spec you want to recommend. Afterwards, you are able to define triggering ad spec, site, ad type or placement. If those triggering information is used in the media configuration, the recommended ad spec is also visible for the user. You can also define a timeframe, when this recommendation is valid or you can leave all triggering information blank to always show this recommendation.

Note: You can also leave triggering information blank to show that recommendation always. For ad spec recommendation there always exist a high, medium or low criteria correlation. The criteria correlation can be set at triggering information section. For instance, if an ad spec recommend another one, this is defined as a high criteria correlation (also known as direct recommendation). Triggering site, ad type or placement are medium criteria correlation if two criteria correspond to the triggering information. If only one criteria correspond to the triggering information (for instance the site), this is displayed as a low criteria correlation. The reason for recommendation is marked as bold font in the media configuration.

Setup Ad Type Recommendations

To setup ad type recommendations, you have to define the ad type you want to recommend. Afterwards, you are able to define triggering ad type. You can also define a timeframe, when this recommendation is valid or you can leave all triggering information blank to always show this recommendation.
