Challenge
When working with Broadsign, a challenge is setting up the appropriate pre-configurations to enable Sales Reps and Order Managers to easily select the right Ad Specs for their Campaign Items. Ad Specs consist of the medium/site where the ad is running and the specific format (ad type). However, creating Ad Types with the necessary technical and format settings for successful integration with an external system like an AdServer can be challenging. It is important to understand how to create Ad Types and which settings need to be configured in Broadsign to ensure they work correctly.
Solution
By following these instructions, you can easily create Ad Types in Broadsign and configure the required technical and format settings to ensure successful integration with an external system. When creating Ad Types for Broadsign make sure to fill in the information below, explaining which fields equal which settings in the AdServer.
To create a new Broadsign Ad you go to the main menu/ app launcher, access Ad Types, select New and under New Ad Type select BROADSIGN option and press Next.
Fill in all the necessary fields and press Save.
You will see the fields below to be filled:
Broadsign Field | Field Possible Values | Additional Comments |
---|---|---|
Ad Type Name | Enter a name for your Ad Type | |
Advertising Form Shortform | Enter a Shortform name | Note: this field intended for internal use only |
External name | - | “External name” will be externally displayed on the proposal |
Product search Name | - | Description for this Ad type as applied in the ad spec search |
Media Differenciation |
| - |
Target Group | Please select for which Target Group is this Ad Type relevant | |
“Active” checkbox option | In the Adspecs & Rates manager, Inventory & Rates Manager, Booking Calendar, Create & Update Rates Manager and AGOF Connect, only active marked records will be available |
Setup
The page layout of the Ad Type might not have all the necessary fields for the users, so the System Administrator might need to add them. Additionally, new values may need to be added to existing picklist fields to match the required settings.
If these settings need to be changed for a specific Campaign Item, you can do so by overriding them at the Campaign Item level. You can override settings such as Ad Type, Goal Type, and Goal Percent/Quantity. How to do this you can find here.
