Challenge

ADvendio is offering your business to run Facebook Integration in ADvendio in order to:

Plan campaigns, manage budgets, sell your own inventory and manage media buying activities
Keep the data in synchronization
Maximize the efficiency of your internal processes
Streamline the configuration of your media buying activities on the Facebook platform to save time and effort

Solution

How do you set up the connection to Facebook in ADvendio?

In order to start using the ADvendio Facebook Integration, you will need to set up a new record of Facebook connection in ADvendio. Please, follow the steps below:

In the main Advendio menu type “Connections”
Create a new connection record by selecting the option “New”
Select “Facebook” as a new record type

A screen “New connection: Facebook” will open, enter data in the field “User Name” (mandatory) and fill in all the rest information (if necessary) and press Save. It will create a new connection

Open the new connection record you just created from the list
In the upper right corner, click on "Create OAuth Token"
When required, enter your Facebook username and click Submit
Under "Create OAuth Token", click on "Link to Third Party Platform". This will redirect you to the Facebook login page
Log into your Facebook account and accept the authentication request
Copy the authorization token
Return to ADvendio and paste the copied authorization code into the provided field
A pop-up will confirm whether the authorization was successful or not

Important Update: Business Management Permission and Shared Facebook Pages

To enable the retrieval of shared Facebook Pages from various accounts, the OAuth token process now includes the "business management" permission.
When authorizing ADvendio to access your Facebook account, ensure that you grant the necessary permissions, including "business management." This will allow ADvendio to retrieve and display shared Facebook pages that you have access to.
This will allow the user to see and use facebook pages that are shared with the user from other facebook business accounts.

Possible field values and explanation when creating a Facebook connection:

The access token authorisation code will be stored here

Record Type: FACEBOOK

“Facebook” record type is shown by default as it previously selected in set up process

You should check this box to activate the ad server login

You can enter additional text to describe login record

Related Connection

You can use this field to connected with related AdServer

You can use a regular Facebook User Account, if you work with multiple people and they require access to different data (e.g. Advertiser Ad Accounts). You will need individual connection records for each user.

You have the option to create a Facebook System User only for the ADvendio Integration, please contact your Technical Account Manager or our Customer Success Team for help.

Data to import from Facebook

Once authentification is obtained and Facebook Connection is established for the next step we would strongly recommend importing Facebook data into ADvendio for smooth media advertising and buying activities.

By importing this data you can decide which Facebook information to use in ADvendio features and which to leave out.

This can be implemented at a later stage but is recommended to perform sooner to have the access to all capacities of the feature.

We would recommend importing the following information from the platform:

Import Advertisers (Ad Accounts)
Import Custom Audiences
Import Inventory (Promoted Pages in order to use them for certain bookings)
Import Geo-Targeting
