What happened?

Google Ad Manager Reporting data between August 30th and August 31st has been affected as per the official Google Statement. The affected customers are able to access Google Ad Manager but may not have access to the most recent data of Google Ad Manager.

The issue is currently ongoing and as of right now we are not able to provide a workaround on ADvendio’s end to guarantee correct numbers, based on our current features and their business requirements.

Who is affected?

  • All customers using Google AdManager

  • Especially customers using the ADvendio finance module

What do our customers need to do?

While Google has not provided official communication that the issue is fixed we strongly recommend all customers not to issue invoices based on delivery data!

When Google issue an official communication that the issue is fixed:

  • If you are NOT using the ADvendio Finance module, be aware that any reporting data for August is incorrect and needs to be updated.

  • You might need to repeat delivery reports for your Campaign Items. What does this mean? Your reports are running on a daily basis and some dates might contain incorrect data. But the next time when reports run after that issue, Campaigns data should be correct. You can use the button ‘Get Delivered Clicks & Impressions’ on a Campaign Item and import it for individual items.

  • If you ARE using the ADvendio Finance module, please follow these steps:

  1. If invoices issued are based on:

    1. linear distribution, then accounting records will be adjusted at the end of the runtime of Campaign Item

  2. If invoiced are based on Actuals make sure:

    1. all invoices for Google which are related to the August delivery data to be canceled

    2. that Delivery Data are imported again

    3. to re-run Pre-invoicing and Invoicing process for invoices related to August delivery data

  3. If your organization is using “Merge All cancelation” type, please contact Customer success team and DO NOT perform any action yet

How customers can find Campaigns affected?

We can provide our customers with step-by-step guidance on how to create reports in order to find Google-related Campaign Items. There are different ways in Salesforce to identify this, if you need additional help, please contact our support team or your Technical Account Manager.

As ADvendio Campaign Items are always related to an Ad Spec and an Ad Type, you can find your Google Related Campaign Items, by filtering for all items in relation to an Ad Type of the Record Type ‘ADMANAGER’.

 

Additionally, you could use the Salesforce Reporting tools to find the right Campaigns. You might be required to create a new Custom Report Type in Salesforce setup, to cover the right objects. It could look like this and include: Ad Types, Ad Specs, Ad Prices and Campaign Items.
