Reporting for Delivered Impressions

7.3.7.6 Breaking Change: Freewheel Reporting for delivered Impressions

Current Limitations for the ADvendio - FreeWheel Integration

1- Inventory

...

Zones in AdButler represent the placement of your ad on a website. Typically these Zones represent a single ad space and creative size.

As with the structure of AdButler, the booking relevant information (like start and end date, the desired number of impressions, and the priority) is defined on a Zone Assignment, where you select a single Zone. If you want to target multiple Zones, you will have to use a Channel. These channels need to be set up in AdButler and can then be imported to ADvendio.

...

Note

ADvendio Campaign Items do not support the selection of multiple Zones (as seen in the screenshot above) or the selection of multiple Channels. If you select those we can not guarantee that the right booking will arrive in AdButler. Please use a Channel instead if you want to target rotations.

Check Availability

Currently, the API of AdButler only supports availability checks based on Zones. If your ADvendio Campaign Item should include Channels or VAST Zones instead, the Check Availability feature might return an error message similar to this:

and Video for Freewheel (Content Targeting) - BREAKING CHANGE WITH 2.119

The logic for combining Videos and Inventory for your Items. Logic to set these during submission to AdServer. Inventory and Video for FreeWheel before the 2.119 version and after the 2.119 version:

Before 2.119 - ‘Or connection’

In the past, we submitted all videos and sites that are set at a Campaign Item in the same set. This means for Freewheel, that all of them are in an OR relation.

So if you for example selected Site A and Video Group B, the placement will either run on Site A, regardless of the video shown or on each video in Group B, regardless of the site the video streams on.

Image Added

2.119 and up - Videos and Sites in ‘AND relation’

As ADvendio currently offers no further connection logic for the video and site targeting, we decided to update our logic to put videos and sites into separate groups.

This way you can configure your Items to run on a specific Site when specific Videos are shown.

2- Breaking Change: Freewheel Reporting for delivered Impressions

There is a critical change in regard to the metrics used for Impressions in reporting.

What in the past was "Net Delivered Impressions" is now "Net Counted Ads". In order to react to this change, you will need to install a patch from ADvendio and change the ADvendio-related reports within Freewheel. To make sure your Delivery Reports are still containing the correct number please follow these steps.

Solution:

1.) Make sure to install at least ADvendio Spring (2.125.x) or ADvendio Spring (2.126.1) or the following release version 2.127. So that the ADvendio Gateway can ask Freewheel for the correct metrics

2.) Make sure to enhance your reports within Freewheel and add the new metric “Net Counted Ads”

...

The old metric “Net Delivered Impressions” can be removed. Please make sure that all reports are saved and scheduled to be pushed to the Freewheel FTP so that ADvendio can access them. Attention: It might take some time until a newly updated report is pushed to the Freewheel FTP. In most cases the following day, you should be able to receive the correct values in ADvendio
