3.5.3 How to import and sync targeting information and ids from connected systems with ADvendio?
Setup
There is no additional setup required.
If you can’t see the record type for AdButler, please make sure that your user has the required permissions to that record type and all fields on the Connection (AdServer_Login) objectWhen using Broadsign, one of the main challenges is to properly set up pre-configurations that allow Sales Reps and Order Managers to easily select the appropriate Ad Specs for their Campaign Items. Ad Specs typically include the medium/site where the ad will be displayed and the specific format (Ad Type) that will be used. However, creating Ad Types that have all the necessary technical and format settings for successful integration with an external system like an Ad Server can be challenging. It is important to understand how to create Ad Types and which settings need to be configured in Broadsign to ensure they work correctly.
Solution
To create Ad Types in Broadsign and integrate them with an external system, follow the instructions provided below. While creating Ad Types, make sure to fill in the required details that correspond to the settings in the Ad Server. This will ensure the successful configuration of the technical and format settings.
Create a new Broadsign Ad Type
Here are step-by-step instructions to create a new Broadsign Ad Type:
Open the main menu or app launcher
Look for "Ad Types" feature and select it
Within the Ad Types menu, locate and click on the "New" button.
...
A list of options will appear for creating a new ad type. Choose the "Broadsign" option from the list.
...
Click on the "Next" button to proceed.
Now, you will see a form with various fields to fill in. Make sure to provide all the required information.
Once you have filled in all the necessary fields, click on the "Save" button.
...
You will see the fields below to be filled:
Broadsign Field | Field Possible Values | Additional Comments |
---|---|---|
Ad Type Name | Enter a name for your Ad Type | |

Priority | If the priority field is left empty, we use the value defined on the Ad Type. The platform has specified certain values that are allowed for priority. Therefore, you must select from those specific values when setting priorities in Broadsign. For example, if a priority in Broadsign is labelled as P1, you should also assign the same value in ADvendio. | |
Budget Type |
| Budget Type field sets what kind of goal your proposal has.
Depending on the goal, you need to set different additional fields like Secondary Goal Budget. |
...
Setup
The page layout of the Ad Type might not have all the necessary fields for the users, so the System Administrator might need to add them. Additionally, new values may need to be added to existing picklist fields to match the required settings.
