To buy media programmatically via a DSP or Social Media platform from ADvendio, there certain configurations need to be certain configurations done, for . For example:

  • the time frame

  • the overall goal and kpiKPI

  • Impression or cost budgets

The following things can be configured:

  • Who the advertiser is

  • The start and end date (just leave the end date empty for an unlimited campaign)

  • Overall Goal KPI (for example an average CPM of 12.50$)

  • Status

Once the campaign has been pushed to an external system, it’s the ID will be automatically saved in the Campaign ID field.

Buying Campaigns are optional to use, you can also work with only Buying Orders and Buying Items.

If the external system (DSP, Social Media ectetc.) requires the creation of a campaign and there is no Buying Campaign present in ADvendio, all relevant information (like name, dates, goals) will be copied from the Buying Order.

Buying Orders are used for a more detailed planning. Precise goals or budgets can be defined also those can be used to define , as well as a shared budget for multiple Buying Items (e.g. Have . For example, you can have two line items and define that it’s not important which one spends, as long as both don’t surpass total costs of 5.000$).

To create Buying Orders please use our Buying Order creation component (released in version 2.146) which can be opened via the “Buying Order” action on your Campaign Item.

Please follow the steps below to create your Buying Order:

  1. Hit the Add Buying Order action in the upper right corner to create a new Buying Order.

  2. Choose the Connection in ADvendio to use.

  3. Click the edit icon on the left to give your order a name.

Once the campaign has been pushed to an external system, it’s the ID will be saved automatically in the Insertion Order ID field. Also, if you didn’t use a Buying Campaign, the Campaign ID needs to be saved on the Buying Order object, for ADvendio to be able to properly identify the campaign in the external system.

Configuring Buying Items

Buying Items will represent the individual Line Items of an order.

Please follow the steps below to create your Buying Items:

  1. Hit the Add Buying Item action in the action menu of your Buying Order.

  2. Click the edit icon on the left to give your item a name.

  3. The following things can be configured:

    • The start and end date

    • A budget of either an amount or a number of impressions (It’s only possible to use one at a time, please make sure that you are using the same as configured for the order)

    • Bid Amount (the CPM amount used as fix bidding amount)

    • Media Format (which format to use, Display, Audio, Video)

    • Status

  4. Hit the Save button to save your Buying Orders and Buying Items or continue adding more.

The last submit data and last submit status fields show additional shows information about when the last submit was started and , if it was successful or if there was an error. The last submit status stores additional information on whether the buying item was successfully created, updated, a detailed error message being displayed otherwise.

Configure the Mapping of the Advertisers

In order to make sure the correct advertisers are referred from ADvendio, you need to make sure your Accounts in ADvendio map to the advertisers in your DSP or Social Media System.

There are two ways to ensure this.

1. Is by using Accounts that have the exact same name as the advertisers in your connected system. ADvendio will use the name to match the Accounts to the right IDs. Attention: Please make sure the spelling and special characters are exactly matching, the advertiser ID needs to be entered on the Accounts usedelse ADvendio may have trouble finding the right data to connect.

The automatic synch of Accounts based on the name is supported for version 2.142 and higher.

All prior releases will need to follow the second step, in order to make sure your Buying Orders are sent to the right Advertiser.

2. Possibility is to manually create the mapping. This way, you can choose a different naming for your Account in ADvendio, than in the connected system. To do this, open the account record and go to the related list External Account IDs

Enter 'External Account IDs' list on your Account.

Before creating the External Account ID, make sure to sync the advertiser IDs to ADvendio from your connected system. See also 3.5.3 How to import and sync targeting information and ids from connected systems with ADvendio? for more information.

Click the new button on the related list and provide the following information:

ID = the ID of the Advertiser in the external system

Connection ID: Link to the synced Connection ID from the external system, which represents the advertiser in that system.
