2.166

External Systems

Equativ (SMART)

Role

Order Manager  -  Fulfilment; System Administrator

Challenge:

When booking for Equativ, there is the option to select one or multiple formats. How does ADvendio support setting up formats for your bookings and how do these arrive in Equativ?

Solution:

ADvendio offers the possibility to submit a single Campaign Item into multiple Equativ insertions. This way you can sell multiple formats to customers also in a single Campaign Item.

To use this, the formats to target need to be configured. There are multiple ways for the product management or system administrator to do this. For example in the product definition via Ad Type or with the inventory targeting feature.

To continue creating the Campaign Item as usual and submit it to Equativ via the submit to AdServer feature. This will create an Order and Insertion in Euqativ.

The selected formats will be assigned to the created insertion. If you’ve selected multiple formats in ADvendio, they will be assigned to the same Insertion.

Legacy format logic

Prior to version 2.166 we had a different logic, due to limitations on the Equativ API. When multiple format IDs were selected in ADvendio, we created them as individual Insertions. Those Insertions each had a single format assigned and had a shared goal, so that they would be in total deliver according to the Campaign Item setup in ADvendio.

All your old Campaign Items will not be affected by the change and can still be used. New Campaign Items will be pushed as described above with multiple formats selected.

In this case, you can see all the insertion IDs from Equative in the field Ad ID and the field Additional Ad Ids.

The Campaign Items quantity will be used as a shared goal across all connected insertions. If the quantity is changed, this change will be transferred to Equativ the next time the submit button is used and affects all connected insertions, just like with regular items.

Setup:

To use this feature there is no specific configuration needed.

Once created, ADvendio saves an External Group ID, which is needed for our Equativ integration to share the common goal across all the insertions created. This part is needed for the technical integration. The field can be included in the page layout and shown to the user, but that is not necessary to submit items to Equativ. Please make sure that the relevant user profile has all the necessary read and edit permissions for this field.
