Challenge

You’re starting to use the ADvendio Triton Integration. Now you want your Sales Representatives to be able to pick Triton products and create the right Media Campaigns and Campaign Items, so they can offer the advertisers the right deal while being able to send the data over to Triton and use ADvendio automatic integration capabilities!

How can you set up the right products in ADvendio to be used with Triton and make sure to make this process as smooth and efficient as possible?

General information on setting Triton connection and features import:

7.3.11.1 How to set up your Triton connection in ADvendio?

3.5.3 How to import and sync targeting information and ids from connected systems with ADvendio?

3.5.4 Which targeting information and inventory IDs will be synched between ADvendio and external systems, what do they mean and how will they be used?

Solution

The article will give an overview of Triton and highlight specific parts. To be able to prepare the Media Campaign you need to create Ad Specs first.

The general Goal is: to create Ad Spec, combine it with the Ad Type created for Triton, assign an Ad Price, and assign an Inventory.

Steps to create Triton Media Campaign:

1) Setting Inventory Targeting criteria

IMPORTANT
Please make sure your Triton Connection is set up and that you have imported at least one inventory targeting criteria and also Account data.

Select the inventory and targeting criteria needed when you are on Triton record and when using the ‘Transfer to ADvendio’ feature.

Steps to do:

  • Select the ‘Connections’ feature in the main menu

  • Select a relevant Connection (Connection ASL-125439 used as an example and would see different values)

  • Use the Transfer to ADvendio feature in the upper right corner

  • Select a Connect ID category/subcategory you would like to import and press Next

  • Inventory Category available options
Station Targeting, Listener Targeting, Genre, Market, Podcast, Delivery Method, and Position

If you do not assign Inventory Targeting on your Ad Spec, you can also select them directly on your Campaign Item, via Inventory Targeting features in the “Media Config/Campaign Builder”.

You can also skip this step in the beginning, but would need to add this at a later stage, see steps 4.3.4.5 How to configure which inventory to targeting in External Systems

  • After ‘Transfer to Advendio’ is done you will see the completed results report:

2) Creating Ad Type

You will find detailed guidance on creating and configuring Ad Types for Triton: How to configure formats for Triton-related products in ADvendio

3) Creating Ad Spec and assigning it to Ad Type

Ad Specs represent a product in ADvendio that your users or sales reps will later use for media configuration to select available Ad Specs and Ad Types to create their campaign items. This is the information you need to consider when creating Ad Specs for Triton.

Ways to create Ad Specs:

Generally, there are three ways to create Ad Specs in Advendio:

1) Using the ‘Ad Specs & Rates management’ option (from the App Launcher)*

2) Creating Ad Specs Manually

3) Using the ‘Inventory & rates manager' option (from the App Launcher)

*One of the ways to create Ad Specs is to access the main menu and create from ‘Ad specs and rates manager’.

When creating Ad Spec from the ‘Ad Specs and Rates management’ menu option:

  • Connect the Ad Spec to a Site, then Placement, which represents in which media or websites you want your Ad to be displayed. Select Triton-created Ad Type.

  • Press ‘Create/ Open Ad Spec’.

4) Defining Ad pricing

  • Create an Ad Price for the Ad Spec: This represents which price per unit you want to sell the ad to your customer. Choose from Triton billing categories.

You can use the following Billing Category: CPM.

CPS is not currently supported within the AdVendio integration.

The Price you’re using in ADvendio will also be sent to Triton which will be using this information to prioritize bookings against each other, in order for those which sell higher will be more likely to deliver.

5) Setting Inventory Targeting Rules:

The previously imported Delivery Method and Position Inventory targeting are required, so that needs to be assigned here or selected manually on the Campaign Item. Both settings are multi select meaning you can select everything or just one.

  • If no Delivery Method is selected in ADvendio, we will set all options.

    • Live

    • Podcast

    • On-Demand

  • If no position is selected in ADvendio, we will set all options.

    • Pre-Roll

    • Mid-Roll

    • Post-Roll

  • No labels
