The Ad Specs & Rates Manager helps you to easily generate new Ad Specs that contain all needed information, including pricing information. These pricing information needs to be updated from time to time, in some cases rates need to be deactivated because of the fact that Ad Specs will be changed or not sold anymore.

Activate / Deactivate Ad Prices

Activate the rate information to be able to use the rate, for instance in the media search and media configuration. If a rate is no longer needed, deactivate the checkbox and this rate is no longer available. Moreover, all Media Campaigns using this rate are untouched and historical data is saved correctly in your system, for instance using reports or account turnover.

Select the Ad Price you want to edit:

  1. Click Edit.
  2. Deselect the checkbox Active
  3. Click Save.

Create and Update Ad Prices

With this feature you are able to create and update rates quickly after entering some relevant criteria. It helps you to keep your media database up to date easily. With a few clicks you can create a new rate for all Ad Specs which meet your entered criteria. This way you can e.g. create a new CPM rate for all Ad Specs with the Ad Type 'Leaderboard' and the rate category 'Run Of Site' for the next year. As there is only one active rate per billing category, rate card and currency at a time allowed, existing rates for the same Ad Specs are updated. To prevent mistakenly changing Ad Prices, existing Ad Prices that would be affected by the new rate are searched for and displayed automatically.


 

  1. Enter your rate criteria:
    • Rate Card: You can assign your price to a rate card.
    • Valid from, Valid to: Specify the period during which the rates are to be valid. If the field is left blank, the new rates are valid indefinitely.
    • Active: Specify if the new rates should be active. There can be an indefinite number of inactive rates.
    • Rate Category, Ad Type: Enter the criteria for which Ad Specs the new rates are to be created.
    • Billing Category, List Price: Specify rate information for the new Ad Price.
  2. You can check whether there are already rates for your specified criteria. In general, these are automatically searched for already.
  3. With this button new rates are created and (if applicable) existing rates updated. 
  4. Overview of existing rates, which overlap with the entered criteria.
  5. Click on the info icon to display all Ad Specs connected to the existing rates. 
  6. This screenshot displays how the existing rates are changed, when you create new rates with the currently specified criteria.


vCPM: To use the vCPM ask your administrator to add the Picklist Values vCPM - Field Billing Category to Object Campaign Item and AdPrice. Please also note it is not possible to use vCPM for Master-Companion AdTypes DFP. This restriction is given by the dfp API as well as the UI.
