Challenge

You have started using the ADvendio Broadsign Integration and now you want to make it easy for your Sales Representatives to select Broadsign products and create the right Media Campaigns and Campaign Items. This way, they can offer the advertisers the best deals and seamlessly transfer the data to Broadsign using ADvendio's automatic integration capabilities.

How can you set up the products in ADvendio to work with Broadsign and ensure a smooth and efficient process?

To help you with this, here is some general information on setting up the Broadsign connection and importing features:

Setting up Broadsign Connection:

Importing and syncing targeting information:

3.5.3 How to import and sync targeting information and IDs from connected systems with ADvendio?

Understanding synched targeting information and inventory IDs:

3.5.4 Which targeting information and inventory IDs will be synched between ADvendio and external systems, what do they mean and how will they be used?

Solution:

To create a successful Broadsign Media Campaign in ADvendio, follow these steps:

Step 1: Set Inventory Targeting Criteria

Before you start, ensure that your Broadsign Connection is set up and you have imported at least one inventory targeting criteria and account data.

  • Access the main menu (App launcher) and select the "Connections" feature.

  • Choose the relevant Broadsign Connection (e.g., ASL-026).

  • Look for the "Transfer to ADvendio" feature in the upper right corner.

  • Select Inventory needed and press next

  • You can choose Run Now or Schedule the Transfer data

  • In the “Current Transfer” window you will see Finish Job

  • In the “Current Transfer” window you will see Finish Job

  • After ‘Transfer to Advendio’ is finished you will see the completed Results report:

Note: Inventory Criteria will help you to determine the selected Screens for Broadsign. In the current Integration of ADvendio, if you do not select targeting criteria, ADvendio will assign random available Screens to your item.

If you do not set Inventory Targeting criteria on your Ad Spec, you are able to also set it directly on the Campaign Item.

Step 3: Create Ad Type

The Ad Type defines the formats and types of Ads for Broadsign. Choose between a "Standard" Ad Type for images and text or a VAST item for video Ads.

For detailed guidance on creating and configuring Ad Types for Broadsign refer to the wiki article [AdType Formats Configuration] for Broadsign

If you do not assign Inventory Targeting on your Ad Spec, you can also select them directly on your Campaign Item, via Inventory Targeting features in the Media Config/Campaign Builder on a Campaign Item level.

2) Creating Ad Type

The Ad Type will structure the different formats and types of Ads for Broadsign. It's up to the customer to decide if to use a ‘Standard’ Ad Type (Display Ad Type used for images and text) or to use a VAST item (used for video Ads).

You will find detailed guidance on creating and configuring Ad Types for Broadsign: [AdType Formats Configuration] for Broadsign

3) Creating Ad Spec and assigning it to Ad Type

Ad Specs represent a product in ADvendio that your users or sales reps will later use for media configuration to select available Ad Specs and Ad Types to create their campaign items. This is the information you need to consider when creating Ad Specs for Broadsign.

Ways to create Ad Specs:

Generally, there are three ways to create Ad Specs in Advendio:

1) Using the ‘Ad Specs and Rates Management’ option

2) Creating Ad Specs Manually

3) Using the ‘Inventory & rates manager' option

One of the ways to create Ad Specs is to access the main menu and create from ‘Ad specs and rates manager’.

When creating an Ad Spec from the ‘Ad Specs and Rates management’ menu option:

  • Connect the Ad Spec to a Site, then Placement, which represents in which media or websites you want your Ad to be displayed. Select Broadsign created Ad Type.

  • Press ‘Create/ Open Ad Spec’.

4) Defining Ad pricing

  • Create an Ad Price for the Ad Spec: This represents which price per unit you want to sell the ad to your customer. Choose from Broadsign billing categories.

Several categories are valid for Broadsign you can use the following Billing Categories: use fixed price, CPD, CPMo and CPM

The Price you’re using in ADvendio will also be sent to Broadsign which will be using this information to prioritize bookings against each other, for those which sell higher will be more likely to deliver.

Setting Inventory Targeting Rules:

Inventory Targeting for Broadsign decides which Screens will be selected for your Item, when you push

Right now you can define Targeting Criteria for your selection, based on the Criteria defined in your Broadsign direct

These Criteria will influence which screens will be selected for your booking. Currently there is no way to select specific screens.

If now criteria are selected, random available screens will be selected in the initial booking. If you push updates of an existing item from ADvendio, it will not update the selected screens, so any configuration you already did will not be overwritten!
