What is the Release Schedule Change?

 

Starting in July 2023, we will change our existing release schedule to a triannual cycle for our major releases. This means that in the future there will always be a new major release of ADvendio in March, July, and November. 

The change was implemented to increase the quality of our software and to align with the latest Salesforce security review changes.

In order to ensure maximum security, every preview version will undergo a security review and approval process by Salesforce. Once the security review is successful, the version will be marked as an official release. Furthermore, our two most recent major releases will provide full support and bug fixes to all customers before and after this new schedule is implemented.

Our ultimate goal is to enhance the release quality and stay up-to-date with the latest Salesforce security review updates. 

If you are an ADvendio Connect user, we will communicate separately on any required updates to ensure that you’re using the latest API versions.

 

What is the New Release Schedule Process? 

We release our updates three times a year, with the new preview releases starting this year in July and continuing in November and March. Each preview release undergoes a thorough security review by Salesforce, which typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. Once a version successfully passes the review, it becomes an Official release. 

 

What Actions Are Required?

Both new and current customers do not need to take any immediate action, however, may want to consider this in their future internal release planning.

Why is the release schedule changing?

The schedule is changing in order to enhance the quality of our product and comply with the latest Salesforce security review updates.

 

Does this mean we will have to wait three months for a bug fix in the future? 

Rest assured, any bugs will be promptly fixed.

 

What does that mean for our internal release and test planning?

A dedicated page will be available for every preview version in our Knowledge Base, and this will be communicated with every customer so they can install it and test it in their sandbox.

 

Can I schedule the preview versions for my release process?

Yes, you may schedule the preview version as part of your release process as there will be no significant updates or new features added. Again, this will be communicated to all customers to ensure you are using the best version for your business.
