At ADvendio, we are committed to providing you with the best possible experience through continuous software improvement. Starting in late 2023 and continuing into 2024, we will gradually remove certain features and integrations that are not commonly used. This is being done to improve the functionality and user experience of our platform. We are committed to providing you with the best possible experience, and we believe that this measure will help us achieve that goal.

Deprecation and cleanup

Starting from September 2023 and continuing into 2024, ADvendio will gradually remove certain features and integrations that are not widely used to improve our platform's functionality and user experience. See more info on ADvendio 2023/24 Integrations and Features Deprecation Schedule

Performance upgrade Campaign Builder

We worked strongly on improving the performance of our Campaign Builder. Please make sure to test your custom logic and processes to ensure a smooth transition for this release.

Important for Connections to work properly
To ensure the proper functioning of Third-Party Integrations (AdServers, Media Buying, Programmatic Import ect.) after installing a new major version, Salesforce OAuth access needs to be granted again. This step can be completed by running a "Check Login" on any one Connection of your choice. It is only required to be done once, but needs to be done for every user individually. Failing to perform this step may result in issues with connection features. Please confirm this also for Admin users or others that are used to schedule Delivery Reports.

There is the option to mitigate this by using Permission Sets. For detailed instructions, refer to our guide: How to authenticate and authorize ADvendio Gateway for Third-Party System integrations.

Booking Calendar

We fixed the following issues in our Booking Calendar Lightning:

  • There was an issue when using the Booking Calendar Settings in german. This was fixed now.

  • Cells with the same timeframe and Ad Price should be merged as basket items

  • An Issue with the advanced Content search and custom filters has been fixed

  • A content tree issue in Booking Calendar when opening child items or many items

  • an issue where the basket button was not shown

New Feature

We added the following enhancements to our Booking Calendar:

  • The Booking Calendar now preserves the start and end dates when switching templates, provided the new template does not have these dates defined

  • You can now paste multiple comma separated values into the standard lookup fields to quickly add filters

Campaign Builder

Changes and optimisations

We fixed the following issues in our Campaign Builder:

  • It was not possible to copy prorated packages

  • An issue where items stayed in the basket after saving a campaign was fixed

  • An issue with the record type and picklist value rules was fixed

  • An issue of the Campaign Builder failing to open without the 'CampaignItemActionCopyAvoidClone' feature setting was fixed

  • An issue of custom values not showing up is resolved

  • An issue regarding the individual package header when copying publication dates

  • A fix was implemented to ensure the publication dates calendar displays the correct year

  • A problem where the child contents of the targeting did not show has been resolved

  • An issue with selecting targeting sets and targeting groups in parallel is fixed

Improvements

We have applied the following improvements for our Campaign Builder:

  • We worked on several performance improvements

  • ensuring a clear order of changes to be applied

  • Improvements for our Publication Date and Contents selection

  • Improved the Freewheel selection of Audience Segments

  • Implementation of inherited targeting information in the Key Value selection

  • A sum-up row was added to the currency columns in the Campaign Builder, displaying the sum of the values and an open budget field was added to display the remaining budget information automatically

  • Enabled the Campaign Builder to support weekly splits based on fiscal periods, allowing users to split campaign items into weeks running from Monday to Sunday

  • An issue with the check availability due to custom flows and inputs is fixed.

  • An issue in regards of the field 'Share of Voice' has been fixed

A logic adjustment was implemented to ensure the Constant Quantity value Frequency and Guaranteed AI were properly taken into account for the Availability Check.

Deprecation and Cleanup

 

We are cleaning up our code:

  • deprecated our old Geo Targeting objects (Selected Country, Region, City, Area Code).

  • We removed our old Check Login Visualforce page from the package.

  • Deprecated the Time Based Guaranteed AI feature

  • Deprecate OBS Integration service

  • Deprecate Programmatic Big Object logics

  • Remove Code References AdServer Advertiser ID

Dynamic Pricing/Price Rules

We fixed the following issues in our Price Rules logic:

  • An issue with the Matching Criterion feature setting did not work with the expected format was resolved

  • A problem with the pricing rule due to custom logic is fixed

External Account IDs

We enhanced our Inventory Setup Assistant with even more wizards.

We enabled a few new features for our Media Search:

  • Lookups can now also receive comma separated inout to quicker fill them in bulk

  • lookups work in a hierarchical way so that related lookups should prefilter suggestions

  • A new checkbox field "Disable for Media Search" was added to Ad Specs, allowing users to hide specific Ad Specs from Media Search results while keeping them available for automation purposes

An issue where having a commitment assigned to a media campaign affected the media search has been fixed.

Improvement

Improved our creation logic for Budget Billing Category Campaign Items, so that they are set up with the correct distribution logic.

  • implemented a new Behavior that considers the Rate Card validities to be ignored when containing matching Ad prices

  • enhanced the Booking Calendar Ad Price validities behavior along with Feature settings that enables or disables Ad Price validation to avoid any inconsistencies in the results

We fixed the Inventory Forecast Service to properly take runtimes into account when checking availabilities

Creative Upload

New Feature

We enhanced our Creative Upload feature to fully support files stored in Third Party Storage. ADvendio allow to upload files directly via our Ad Manterial Management into external storage and later transfer these files directly into Google AdManager or Xandr.
Currently, Amazon Storage is supported for this.

Delivery Report Center

Improvement

We improved the display of Connection Types in our Delivery Report Center, which were showing technical names instead of the translated connection name.

Integration / Google AdManager

Improvement

The following improvements were done on our Google AdManager Integration:

  • We updated Google AdManger API to version 202402 and allow an uninterrupted service

  • The import of Creative Templates for Google AdManager now takes into account multichoice variables and automatically imports the possible values for the field.

We fixed an issue where the submit to Ad Server Proposal needed a proper validation.

Integration / EQUATIVE

We fixed the following issues in our EQUATIVE Integration:

  • Problems with the monthly delivery data imports for our Equative Integration, not importing the data successfully in all cases.

  • CPM price rates were sent to Equative with decimals instead of the rounded value

Improvement

The Freewheel Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol was updated due to deprecation and allow a uninterrupted service

Integration / Xandr

New Feature

Our Xandr Monetize Integration for Publishers now supports the import of Daily and Daily Sitebased Delivery Data.

We fixed the following issues in our Xandr Integration:

  • Submit of CPC items returned an error, now this billing category has no conflicts

  • Newly imported Key Values now display their status properly

  • We removed some imports for Xandr of Creative Format Types from Transfer to ADvendio, which were not used in any of the ADvendio features

To follow the Salesforce Securtiy standards and ensure a save environment for our integrations, we added an encryption to our Token storage for some of our Media Buying Integrations.

Improvement

We updated how Billing Categories are sent to AdServers in our Submit to AdServer process. This allows you as customer more flexibilty in setting up Campaign Item pricing. We fixed an issue when using the ‘SubmitToAdserverSchedulable’ feature with multiple Google AdManager Campaigns that contained Custom fields at a Media Campaign level.

Targeting & Inventory Transfer

We improved our Targeting and Inventory imports for the Transfer to ADvendio feature, by putting the IDs required for the criteria into a single ID field. We are currently starting the migration of the legacy ID field into the new ID field on Connection ID records. New imports will already support the new field, but all related features will for now continue to also use the legacy id field.   • Improved error handling, when keys and values are deactivated in GAM, so that the right error message is shown, instead of a null error

We fixed a problem with our delivery reports feature. The imported metrics were doubled, if the same Ad ID was used across multiple Campaign Item Records, this problem was more prone to happen, if you were using scheduled delivery reports and a high number of active Campaign Items (4.000+).
