How to automize the synch of audiences and videos between ADvendio and external platforms?

Audience Targeting or Video Inventory is often changing, new options are available while others become inactive within the AdServer, SSP or DSP. Certain ADvendio features, like Audience Targeting, require that ids and other information are synched between ADvendio and the connected features.

To keep ADvendio up to date and make sure all relevant information are present in the Campaign Item configuration, it’s needed to configure an automatic and recurring import of Connection IDs.

Such an automatic information synch is often needed for:

  • Inventory or Video IDs

  • often changing targeting criteria, such as Audience Targeting

  • Advertiser, Agency or Creative data


To automize the synch of information between a connected system and ADvendio, our new ‘Transfer to ADvendio’ feature can be used.

Go to the connection record and click the button ‘Transfer to ADvendio’

Select which import process you want to plan and follow the steps to schedule starting time and starting days. More information can be found here: https://advendio.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SO/pages/1609170978

Some imports might take a longer time, that’s why we recommend to leave enough time between two planned jobs. For Audiences and Videos, you should plan with a two hour difference. Generally we recommend to synch data not more than once a day for each specific type.

Once a process is finished, the user which planned the synch/import will receive an email with the results.

To view what processes have been planned, you can view them either in the Setup at Scheduled Jobs or view the related list on your connection record.

Attention: In the current version of the feature, you can delete planned transfers via the related list, but you can’t edit them. To modify an existing planning you will need to delete the scheduled transfer and then plan a new transfer.


To use this feature, we recommend that user planning the jobs has a system administrator profile or similar, which will ensure all needed permissions are there. Also the user should authorize the ADvendio connected app, in order to allow the import of data into Salesforce.

You will need to make sure to enhance the page layouts of your connections (attention: each record type has their own layout) with the following:

  • Make sure to place the Lightning Action ‘Transfer to ADvendio’

  • To avoid confusion, remove the old feature ‘Transfer from AdServer’ from the list of buttons/lightning actions

  • add the related list ‘Scheduled Transfers’
