8.1.6 Switch to a new AdServer
If you are planning to switch to a new AdServer this page will give you some tips and the steps to allow a successful change.
1. Media Campaigns
You should follow one of these approaches for your Media Campaigns to enable a clear start of your new AdServer.
- Fix Start and End of Campaigns
- You may set all Media Campaigns connected to your old AdServer to a fix end date.
- The Media Campaigns connected to your new AdServer should be set to a fix start date to be able to have a clear start.
- Let all Campaigns connected to the old AdServer run out and start all new Campaigns in the new AdServer.
- You have the possibility to use a mixed version of point 1 and point 2.
2. Steps to Switch
- Setup a new AdServer Login (for more information take a look at 7.3.1 Create a Connection with a Third Party System (e.g. AdServer, DSP, SSP)).
- Transfer Data from the AdServer (for more information take a look at 7.3.2 Transfer Data from the AdServer).
- Setup new Ad Types with the record type of the new AdServer and link them to the according AdServer Login.
- Transfer and manage Key Values (for more information take a look at 3.5.5.1 Import Key Value / Audience Segment Targeting).
- Create new Ad Specs (for more information take a look at 3.1.1 Ad Specs).
- Link these new Ad Specs to the AdServer IDs (for more information take a look at 3.2.1 Create Ad Spec, Ad Price, and link to AdServer).
- Create new Ad Prices or you may use the existing ones and update them with Dataloader.
- Deactivate/Delete the old Ad Prices, Ad Specs and Ad Types
- If they were used in the past you can deactivate them (for more information take a look at 3.1.9 Active and inactive inventory items).
- If they were never in use you can delete them.
