Attention Breaking Change:

With version 2.130 we're introducing a breaking change for the configuration of delivery reports. This might affect the user taken to import the delivery data and could influence your results. Please see section 1.1 for details about these changes and what you might need to do.

1. Delivery Report Settings

In your ADvendio.com system, you can schedule at what date and time you wish to receive delivery data from your ad server(s). Use the app launcher to open the Delivery Report Settings page. Alternatively use All tabs menu, you find the tab Delivery Report Settings or check the ADvendio Overview Tab. The Delivery Report Settings page has 4 sections:

1.1 Login Settings - Breaking Change with ADvendio Summer 2020 (2.130)

Version 2.130 and higher

With ADvendio Version 2.130, we're updating the way Delivery Reports are scheduled. Now you don't need to enter any Salesforce Login Credentials anymore, in order to plan your Delivery Imports! All the needed information will be taken automatically from the user planning the import.

Why are we doing this?

As the delivery reports are updating data within Salesforce, it is always required to have a connection open to Salesforce. In the past, we did this by using the login credentials of your administrator user (or similar). With the new version, we're utilizing the oAuth capabilities of Salesforce, which means you won't have to enter and save Salesforce password anymore into ADvendio. Also, you won't need to keep your delivery settings in synch anymore with your login credentials, further preventing the reports from crashing now not every Salesforce User with access to the delivery settings page, will be able to automatically see and copy those login credentials.

What does this mean for you?

First of all, there will be fewer steps involved in planning your delivery imports and also you won't need to make sure, that the login credentials are up to date, thus lowering the risk of errors in the process.

If you're updating from an existing version to 2.130 it depends on your current configuration and what step you will need to take. We're switching from the user that is entered in the settings, to the one who has planned the configuration as the user we take to perform the import actions. It is important, that the user which performs the import, has authorized ADvendio to use OAuth to manage the data and that the user has enough access rights to all relevant ADvendio objects and records. We recommend using a System Administrator profile for this.

  1. You used your System Administrator User to plan the delivery report settings and have also entered his login credentials in the login settings section. Then everything is working like before for you.

  2. You entered a different user into the login settings section of your Delivery Reports. In this case, you will need to follow these steps:

    1. Log into Salesforce as this specific user, you want to use for your Delivery Imports

    2. go to the Delivery Report Settings / Delivery Report Center, click edit and save the settings again without changing anything

    3. Make sure the user has authorized ADvendio to use OAuth. If not, you can do this by performing any ADvendio Connect-related action, like going to a connection record and clicking the check login button.

Before Version 2.130

In order to transfer data from the external ad server to your ADvendio.com system, you need to enter administrator salesforce login credentials. Enter your credentials at the top:
