7.7.8.3.4 Why are some imports from GoogleAdManager seemingly missing currency or cost type information and how to handle this?

Challenge:

During the mapping configuration of the ADvendio Programmatic Revenue Import feature, there appeared some irregular programmatic prices, where for example the combination of Ad Unit and Creative Size are duplicated, but the Cost Type information is missing.

Why are those appearing and how to handle them, in order to make sure the right Programmatic Revenue Information are imported into ADvendio.

Solution:

The Google AdManager reporting API, in some cases provides ADvendio data, without a currency set. This could be for example, if only a small proportion of Impressions has been sold on that Ad Unit / Format combination.

In order to successfully include those information, ADvendio automatically sets the default currency, set in your Google AdManager environment. However the change results in the cost type appearing to be empty.

What needs to be done?

In order to configure the Programmatic Revenue Import, please treat those as regular Programmatic Prices, sold on a CPM base. Map them to the same Ad Price you would use for that Ad Unit and continue with the process is defined.

If you decide to not map those programmatic prices, there might be differences in the revenue imported into ADvendio Media Campaigns and the numbers the Google Reports return to you, as the Google UI automatically shows all relevant revenue as default currency.

Setup:

There is no further specific setup needed.
