Solution
How do you set up the connection to Linkedin in ADvendio?
In order to start using the ADvendio Linkedin Integration, you will need to set up a new record of type “LinkedIn”. Please, follow the steps below:
In the main ADvendio menu type “AdServer Interface”
Click on the “Connections“ tab
Create a new connection record by selecting the option “New”
Select “Linkedin” as a new record type
A window “New connection: LINKEDIN” will open, enter data in the field “User Name” (mandatory) and fill in all the rest information (if necessary), and press Save. It will create a new connection.
Open the new Connection record you just created
In the right upper corner Click “Create OAuth Token”
After a modal pops up, click the button “Link to Third Party Platform“
A new tab opens, log into Linkedin, accept the authentication as shown in the screenshot below
Copy the token authorization code and paste it into the field on the modal from the start
Possible field values and explanation when creating a Linkedin connection:
Field value | Description |
---|---|
User name | Enter the user name you use to login to the Ad Serve |
Additional User Name | You can enter an additional user name |
Access Token | The access token authorisation code will be stored here |
Record Type: Linkedin | “Linkedin” record type is shown by default as it’s been previously selected in the set up process |
Active | You should check this box to activate the ad server connection |
Description | You can enter additional text to describe the login record |
Related Connection | You can use this field to connect with specific AdServers (in case of multiple connections) |
You can use a regular Linkedin User Account, if you work with multiple people and they require access to different data (e.g. Advertiser Ad Accounts). You will need individual connection records for each user.
You have the option to create a Linkedin System User only for the ADvendio Integration, please contact your Technical Account Manager or our Customer Success Team for help.
Data to import from Linkedin
Once the authentication token is obtained and the Linkedin Connection is established, as a next step we would strongly recommend using the Transfer to ADvendio feature to import Linkedin data into ADvendio for smooth media advertising and buying activities.
By using this feature you can select the information you want to import in ADvendio
Import Account → Advertiser
Import Key Value → Key / Value
