Available with Version | 2.176 and up |
---|---|
Role | Order Manager - Fulfilment; System Administrator |
External Systems |
1.1. Overview
With this update to our Pinterest integration, you can now target audiences by location using postal codes. This feature is part of Pinterest’s Demographic Targeting options and is now available directly within ADvendio.
1.2. What’s New?
You can now:
Add a list of postal codes to target specific geographic areas in Pinterest Buying Items.
Paste multiple codes using a new Ad Postal Codes field in the Buying Item.
Submit Buying Orders to Pinterest with these zip code-based demographics.
Benefit from default targeting for other demographic filters (like Gender, Age, Languages, and Devices).
1.3. Why This Matters
Location-based targeting helps you:
Reach users in specific geographic regions relevant to your products or services.
Create localized campaigns for promotions or in-store events.
Customize your message depending on the region.
1.4. What Is Supported?
Starting from ADvendio version 2.176, location targeting via postal codes is supported.
Other demographic filters are enabled by default (not selectable from the ADvendio UI):
Genders: All
Ages: All
Languages: All
Devices: All
You can specify one postal code per line, as shown in the following example:
US:94107
GB:AB10
IE:D6W
NL:5643
PT:4560
1.5. How to Use It
1.5.1. Buying Configuration
Make sure that the “Ad Postal Codes (Long Text Area)“ field is added to the Pinterest Buying Configuration:
Click on the nine-dots menu in the top left corner of ADvendio and type “Buying Configuration“
Create or edit an already existing (active) Pinterest Buying Configuration, and ensure that the
“Ad Postal Codes (Long Text Area)“ field is added to the Buying Item Fields list, as shown in the screenshot below.
1.5.2. Add Postal Codes
Navigate to your Pinterest Buying Item in ADvendio.
Locate the field labeled “Ad Postal Codes”.
Paste or type in your list of Postal Codes — one keyword per line, no comma or semicolon needed.
1.5.3. Submit as Usual
Once your Buying Item includes the desired number of postal codes, proceed with your Buying Order submission to Pinterest as normal.
Notes & Limitations
Pinterest supports only certain postal code formats. If an invalid code is used, the submission might fail.
This feature currently only affects Location targeting. All other demographic options default to broad targeting.
This feature is available as of version 2.176.
