Company types in Google Ad Manager

 

The type of company that you deal with in DoubleClick for Publishers depends on their business function and your relationship with them. Along with advertisers and agencies, some companies could be other publishers or organizations that you have a business relationship with. However, certain company types may only be accessible if you have additional features enabled in your DoubleClick for Publishers environment.

ADvendio, on the other hand, only supports two account types: Advertiser and Agency.

Advertiser *

Advertising organization purchasing your site inventory.

Agency *

Organization managing ad accounts for clients.

Ad network

Company representing multiple advertisers and agencies.

House advertiser

Organization in your company representing ads that promote your site.

House agency

Organization in your company managing ad accounts that promote your site.

Affiliate/distribution partner

A publisher who operates one or more sites within your ad network that is or must be treated as a discrete financial entity.

Content partner (Google Ad Manager Video only)

A content owner who provides media for distribution throughout your network.

Rights holders (Google Ad Manager Video only)

Rights holders are individuals or organizations that can expect a share of advertising revenue as a result of a legally recognized financial entitlement to a piece of content. You can associate rights holders to video content and enter a simple percentage revenue share for them.

Account Types in ADvendio

 

ADvendio categorizes accounts into different types, which are reflected in the record type.

Account - Client

An Advertiser - also known as a customer, purchases products either independently or through an agency.

Account - Agency

An agency manages campaigns for clients in a trust/ fiduciary relationship - this means that the agency is under the control of the advertiser and authorized to perform certain acts on their behalf.

Account - Competitor

Any individual or organization that competes with you, such as a company in the same or similar industry offering a similar product or service.

Account - Intermediary

A firm or person who acts as a mediator, also known as a middleman, facilitates business deals, investments, and negotiations between parties, specializing in specific areas.

How to establish a connection between your ADvendio accounts and Google Ad Manager companies for integration and management.

ATTENTION:

Please note that if you are using:

Version 2.107 or higher, use 2.1.4.5 How ADvendio matches your Salesforce Accounts with Advertisers, Agencies or Buyers in an external System?

Version 2.106 or lower, use 2.1.4.2 External Account IDs Object for the same purpose.

 

In order to map an ADvendio Account to a Google Ad Manager company you have to enter a Connection ID on the Account-related list "External Account IDs" below (for Version 2.107 and up):

Mapping scenarios

When using ADvendio and Google Ad Manager together, there are certain scenarios to consider:

  • If you already have an account in Google Ad Manager, simply enter the ID in ADvendio. Be sure to check that the types match, or you may get an error message.

  • If you have created an account in ADvendio without an ID, the system will search for it in Google Ad Manager. This is done by comparing the account name (using string compare) and type.

    • If there is a match, ADvendio will create the appropriate AdServer Advertiser ID record for you.

    • If there is no match, a new company will be created in Google Ad Manager and the AdServer Advertiser ID record in ADvendio will be created accordingly.
